Do I Need to Upgrade My Certificate IV in Training and Assessment?

The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is equivalent to the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, in that the occupational outcome is deemed the same. The majority of the units of competency are non-equivalent meaning gap training will be required to upgrade.

The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is deemed the ‘successor’ to the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, with no requirement to upgrade at this point in time.

For those that hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, plus the TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy, and numeracy skills unit, and the TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools unit, these credentials still meet the requirements to train and assess under the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (2015).

Trainwest recommends as best practice for those holding the TAE40110 to upgrade to the TAE40116 as soon as possible.
