What is a ‘Third Party Arrangement’?

Not all businesses have the required resources to become a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). When compliance is not your core business, the value in becoming a RTO is questionable, particularly when considering all those non-revenue generating hours.

A third party arrangement or “partnering” with a RTO involves establishing a formal relationship between two entities to collaborate on the design, development, and delivery of training and assessment services to learners.

In a partnering arrangement, the RTO works closely with the partner to understand their training needs and to develop customised training programs that meet those needs. The partner may provide input into the content of the training materials, the delivery methods, and the assessment processes to ensure that the training is relevant and effective for their specific industry or company.

In this arrangement, the RTO is responsible for ensuring compliance in all aspects of the training delivery, including that the training is of a high quality and meets the requirements of the training package or qualification.

The third party may also provide additional support to learners, such as mentoring or coaching, to help them apply the skills and knowledge gained from the training in their workplace.

Partnering with a RTO can bring a number of benefits to both parties. For the RTO, partnering can help to expand their business and reach new markets. At the same time it can help to gain valuable insight into the training needs of different industries and organisations.

For the partner, partnering can provide access to high-quality training and assessment services that are tailored to their specific needs, which can improve the skills and productivity of their employees.

It’s important for both parties to have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities in the third-party arrangement. This is documented in a formal agreement that outlines the scope of the training program, the delivery methods, and the assessment processes.

Overall, partnering with a RTO involves building a collaborative relationship that leverages the expertise and resources of both parties to deliver high-quality training and assessment services that meet the needs of learners and the partner organisation.
