Overview

The Preparation Course for the LGIRS (formerly DEMIRS) Law Exam is designed to support students in their LGIRS exam preparation and help them succeed in the LGIRS Law Exam. It offers a clear and structured pathway for candidates enrolling in the statutory certification examination through the Mines Statutory Positions Portal (MSPP), administered by the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (formerly DEMIRS).

This workshop also provides unlimited access to Trainwest Safety Institute’s online self-test portal, allowing learners to practise a range of exam-style questions. Students can study online at their own pace, using their preferred devices anytime and anywhere, while receiving instant feedback to monitor progress and build confidence ahead of the exam.

This course is ideal for individuals being appointed into a Statutory Position, including a Site Senior Executive, Exploration Manager, or those working towards Schedule 26 positions such as Statutory Supervisors and Statutory Managers.

Delivery

Delivery Modes

Choose from a range of flexible delivery options:

Face-to-Face Classroom
Attend 1 day of face-to-face training, 8:30am to 4:00pm, with access to an online self-test portal.

Virtual Classroom
Attend the face-to-face training through Microsoft Teams. The virtual classroom is ideal for students who prefer structured real-time sessions with Trainer guidance but cannot attend the face-to-face classroom. Students can study online using their own devices.

Inhouse Training
This course can be customised for group training. Delivery can be tailored to suit organisational requirements, with flexible delivery options in the workplace. Please speak with our Student Services Team for more information.

 


 

Course Requirements

To be eligible for this course, students must meet the following course requirements:

Prerequisites
Students must have attained all the risk management units of competency required for their appointed Statutory Position.

Student Resources
Students need to have the following resources:

  • Laptop with Wi-Fi capability, a USB port, and Microsoft Office
  • Remote students attending the virtual classroom also require Microsoft Teams.

 

Fees

Tuition Fee: $399 + GST

This price includes a hard copy of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022.
