Due Diligence for Officers

Due Diligence for Officers

Empower yourself with the essential insights and competencies required to comprehend and execute impeccable due diligence for ensuring compliance as an officer.

Overview

Course Overview

The Due Diligence for Officers workshop is designed to raise awareness of WHS legislation in Western Australia.

The workshop explores what due diligence really means in their role, learn how to meet their obligations under the WHS Act, and understands the legal responsibilities of all duty holders in their organisation.

As a due diligence officer, you need to show that you have taken reasonable steps to show your due diligence by:

  • Acquiring knowledge of health and safety issues
  • Understanding operations and associated hazards and risks
  • Ensuring that appropriate resources and processes are used to eliminate or minimise risks to health and safety
  • Implementing processes to receive and respond to information about incidents, hazards, and risks
  • Establishing and maintaining compliance processes and accessing up-to-date safety information.

Students will gain the knowledge and skills to address the legal obligations of various duty holders, explore the concept of due diligence, review the increases in penalties, and familiarise themselves with the new health and safety representative, consultation, and incident reporting requirements.
