Team leaders and frontline managers are a vital link between employees and senior management in every organisation. This qualification has been developed to provide you with the comprehensive skills you will need to lead, guide and support your own team while organising and monitoring their workload.
Ideally, candidates for this program have some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of their team. They analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources, facilitating and engaging others in problem solving and decision making.
The Trainwest BSB0520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management takes a practical approach, includes clustered units and embeds adult learning principles through real workplace situations and scenarios and activity based experiential learning. Our learning strategy enhances the transferability of learning directly into the workplace, as well as makes for a fun and enjoyable learning experience.
Students complete twelve units of competency, five of which are mandatory with the other seven units being elective.
There are no prerequisites requirements for individual units. However a reasonable level of reading and writing is required, as well as reasonable computer skills. To complete the assessment component of this course you will need to be working in or have access to a workplace where you can complete the workplace assessments. Students require a sound theoretical knowledge base and managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their own work or the work of a team.

All training is conducted online, through the Trainwest eLearning portal. Assessments are submitted directly through the eLearning portal.
Hard copy learner guides can be purchased for an additional cost. As a self-directed student, you receive ongoing remote support from Trainwest trainers. This may be in the form of telephone, email or digital communication tools such as Skype, Teams, or GoToMeetings.
Face-to-Face training can be arranged at an additional fee.
